Committed to Promoting Learning, iMahal Launches the First iMahal Scholarship Contest

FOSTER CITY, Calif.--October 4, 2000    iMahal (www.imahal.com), a portal specializing in Success and Learning, launched its first Scholarship Contest. “We at iMahal are committed to encouraging, promoting and supporting Education and Learning, the cornerstone for Success. This contest is the first for iMahal, but certainly not the last.” Said Prof. Srikant Datar, an iMahal founder and Senior Associate Dean of Harvard Business School. “We shall continue to demonstrate our commitment to promoting Learning through a series of Scholarship opportunities for students, with increasing frequency and larger financial awards.”

Any full-time student, over the age of 17, is eligible to enter the Contest. Contestants should submit a 500-1,000 words long essay by December 8, 2000 on, “The Internet: Digital Bridge or Digital Divide. Between the developed world and the developing world, will the Internet be a bridge or a divide?” iMahal will inform the winners by December 31, 2000.

The winner will be presented with an award of US$1,000. Two second-place winners will win US$500 each. Five third-place winners will win US$100 each. Fifty honorable mentions will get one iMahal T-shirt each.
