Dear Mentor:

To get financial aid, should I take a GRE literature test?

I am graduate from India. I am planning to move to the US or UK for higher studies in literature. My question is whether there is any test like GRE [Graduate Record Exam] for literature students to show their fitness for funding and admissions.

Dear Student of Literature:

iMahal offers an authoritative guide on Studying in America and Canada. It outlines the details of the admission and financial aid process, and what you can do to improve your chances for success.

Colleges and universities explicitly outline the selection criteria for admission and financial aid. While most schools require the GRE General Test, only a few require the GRE Subject Test. When the GRE Subject Test is required, the school explicitly states the subject for the test, depending on your program of interest. Taking an exam on your own, without a requirement by the college, will not affect your chances of success.
