Dear Mentor:

What are some inexpensive MS in CS programs in the US?

I have completed B.E. [Bachelor of Engineering] in computer science from the University of Madras, India. I would like to do a master's degree in the USA. I request you please to send your valuable suggestion on which university I should apply to. I want to apply for MS in computer science. I have taken TOEFL exam and achieved a total of 237. I am planning to write GRE in September. I would like to know colleges with some lower amount of tuition and fees.

Lower Cost Colleges, Tamilnadu, India

Dear Lower Cost Colleges:

We would advise you to consider the total cost of education, and not just the cost of tuition and fees alone. The total cost would also include such items as living expenses, transportation, books and supplies, and other miscellaneous items. The total cost of education in the US is very high, ranging from $15,000 to $45,000 per year. This cost depends on many factors, some of which are: whether the school is public or private, prestige and reputation of the school, and its location.

We suggest that you use the iMahal College Finder to identify the colleges that best match financial needs as well as your GRE performance. You can specify the acceptable level of costs in the iMahal College Finder. As a matter of policy and practice, we do not recommend schools, or any other products or services. Using the iMahal College Finder would be a good start for your research for creating a list of target schools.
