  5. Books on Indian Dance and Music - For a good selection of books on Indian Dance, Bharata Natyam, Indian Classical Music, Tabla, Harmonium, Sitar, Indian Folk Dance. Based in North America.
  6. CD-ROM on Indian Classical Dance - Seems like a good CD-ROM with details of all classical dance forms, gurus, 60 minutes of dance. Its ~(Aus)$80...
  7. Costumes and Jewelry for Dances of India - A comprehensive costumes and jewelry source for the Classical Indian dancer.
  8. Dance and Art (www.artindia.net - Art India Foundation) - An excellent site for extremely extensive listing of dancers, teachers and schools in India (altho somewhat Delhi-biased!) of all the Classical Indian dances. Some good pictures under each dance section.
  9. Dance Costumes - See the gorgeous costumes of Bharata Natyam, Odissi, Kuchipudi and Mohiniattam. Very good pictures. If you are tempted, you can even buy one!
  10. Dance directories, magazines (India and Abroad) - A page with information on how to subscribe for Aditi, Sruti, India Current, Indiia New York magazines and the exensive Narthaki II Dance Directory compiled by Anita Ratnam.
  11. Dance School Directory - A fairly detailed directory of dance schools covering the entire world. It's very up-to-date and has some links to these schools as well.
  12. Dances of India - Published in 1962, this is somewhat of a classic now. By Ragini Devi. Buy this online.
  13. Natya mandir - A place where artists, musicians and dancers can register and announce their upcoming recitals or global tours. Somewhat scanty, but a good start..

Shanthis - Buy via the Net/Fax/Phone! - A one stop place for all dance costumes, jewellery & other accessories. -Indian dance costume, Indian art, Indian craft, Indian culture, Indian tradition, dance jewellery, temple jewellery etc. I haven't tried or heard of these people myself (they are based in Madras), but I guess it's 'good' to know all the accessories are available from the Net as well now!
  16. SRUTI - Sruti- classical music and dance magazine on the Net.
  17. Tanjore paintings by original hereditary artist from Thanjavoor - Tanjore paintings by original age old hereditary artist from Thanjavur. The artists roots are authentic and passed through heritage.
  18. Vedamsbooks- Books on Dance (.. & anything India oriented!) - The most extensive source of Books on Indian dance, philosophy, culture, art, textiles, architecture, politics, music, religions,(you name it - they've got it! Brilliant service! (...and no, I'm not related to them!).
